New partnership with location based marketing group is aimed at boosting Little Havana neighborhood visits and revenues per visitor for small businesses and brands.
Miami, FL – April 27, 2011 – The Miami neighborhood known for its famous Calle Ocho, café cubano and traditional businesses like cigar factories and fruterias is getting a high-tech marketing boost. Little Havana Guide LLC announced today that is partnering with location based marketing group Georillas to help local merchants tap the potential of location based apps like Yelp, foursquare, facebook places and others.
The goal? To attract both tourists and locals to the area, and to increase and capture business opportunities.
“Business opportunities are fleeting by nature. You need to be at the right place at the right time, all the time,” explains Georillas CEO Claudio Schapsis. “Location based services (LBS) are proven, effective and innovative tools for attracting repeat visits and new customers. Customers appreciate receiving personalized offers via their mobile phones, especially when they get incentives for ‘checking in’ and participating in real time. In turn, local businesses and brands increase their visibility.”
Georillas will implement location based marketing solutions with Little Havana merchants through packages offered by Little Havana Guide. These will include the implementation of a variety of popular LBS apps according to each business’s characteristics and needs. The packages will also offer advertising opportunities via LittleHavanaGuide.com, a site launching in May 2011.
Each business that uses Little Havana Guide LBS will also receive a distinctive door/window sticker announcing that customers can “check in” to the business’s premises via popular LBS apps. Some stickers will also include a QR (Quick Response) codes that visitors can scan in order to see an introductory video about the business and its location (a package option).
“The LittleHavanaGuide.com website complements online business directory-style and location-based apps by giving visitors ideas for how to explore and get to know the neighborhood and all that it has to offer,” says Little Havana Guide president Corinna Moebius, who also recently co-founded the Little Havana Merchant Alliance, a coalition of local business owners.
“It’s not just the tourists from out of town who want to discover Little Havana. It’s the locals,” says Moebius. “In our Stage Two we will be implementing mobile scavenger hunts in the neighborhood.”
“Little Havana has all kinds of hidden treasures that have never been written about before,” she adds, “and now it’s even easier to find and build a relationship with new hotspots via location-based marketing tools.”
